To be fair, shouldn't the linux distros have Debian and Ubuntu as one since Ubuntu is closely derived from Debian?
i.e. http://www.google.com/trends?q=debian | ubuntu, redhat | fedora, suse, gentoo&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all

Firefox vs. Internet Explorer is rather interesting as well:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=firefox, internet explorer&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all

Finally, another one I like is:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=rail, freeways |motorway |roads&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all

(Though i really doubt that the 'extra police at rail stations' in the Melbourne Herald Sun is anything more than a coincidence!)

A good choice of trends to exploit Google Trends to its full. What I found amazing was the comparison of Linux distros, where Ubuntu has made leaps and bounds compared with Redhat and Debian. I also enjoyed looking at the Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape chart. Equally amazing was the comparison between Wikipedia and Britannica encyclopaedias.
