Welcome to the first day of spring!

Today marks the beginning of stage one water restrictions in Melbourne, after a winter which has seen just half the long-term average rainfall.

    My word! Greater Manchester must have had most of the rainfall designated for Victoria! For the last fortnight, this part of England has nothing but rain - and torrential rain at that. It has also been announced in some UK national newspapers that Britain will be wetter thanks to global warming.
