Myths about, and the History of, Samba

Posted on February 6, 2005 by Chris Samuel

The instantly likeable Tridge has a nice little piece on Groklaw about how Samba was developed, and some myths about it.

Most interesting point there for me was that it was originally written as a SunOS client to DEC’s PathWorks, an SMB server for DEC’s Ultrix and VMS systems.
