New Bird Flu Cases in Europe

The ABC is reporting that there have been new bird flu cases in Europe, with a new case in Britain where a parrot died in quarrantine. It’s known to be a case of H5, but no word whether it is H5N1 yet.

Croatia has also reported H5 in 6 dead swans which have been sent for testing for H5N1 and Romania has a new suspected case.

  1. Registration was working. Honest! I know this because I just logged in on the ID that I registered ages ago.

What I couldn’t do was login using that ID before today.

  2. OK – they were both broken then! 🙂

I think there’s an issue with timing here, the cache was only supposed to be valid for a while, and excluding the module from the cache engine worked except for the page it then forwarded you onto which I couldn’t see how to exclude!

Anyway, caching is turned off completely now and it doesn’t seem to have made much difference to the speed – a testimony to the fact that Xen is providing a quieter environment without the competition for system resources that there was at the old hosting company!
